City Hall Ornamental Fountain

The fountain and pool in front of City Hall were placed there in July 1969 to commemorate the Investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. The fountain display on the east side of the pool represents the Prince of Wales' feathers, and on the west side is "an ornamental curtain of four jets". Prior to the Queen's Golden Jubilee visit in 2002 the fountain was restored and fibre-optic lighting added.[1]
