General tree description

Aesculus x mississippiensis is a small tree (up to 9 to 10 metres tall) and is a naturally occurring hybrid of A. glabra and A. pavia. Its leaves are palmate comprising five leaflets, glossy green, turning orange-red in autumn. The flowers come in early summer, starting yellow and turning pink to red. The fruits are pear-shaped capsules.
