General tree description

Quercus libani can grow to a height of 20 metres and it has mauve-grey, deeply fissured bark. Its leaves are glossy green, oval-lanceolate and quite small (10 to 12 cm in length). They have 10 to 12 pairs of triangular lobes with bristle tips. The acorns are large and rounded, about 2 cm in length and three-quarters enclosed in the cup.
