General tree description
Ilex latifolia is a small tree growing up to 7 metres in the Britsh Isles, with rough, dark brown bark. It has large, dark green, glossy leaves, oblong, 8 to 24 cm long and 4 to 8 cm broad, with a thick, leathery texture and serrated margins. The flowers are yellowish-green and appear in late spring. Fruits are produced in dense clusters and ripen orange-red to dark red in winter.
